In the mediaeval borough at the foot of the old country house of Torrechiara, the Taverna del Castello serves typical local dishes, in both traditional and revisited versions, with some references to Mediterranean cuisine too. Particular attention is dedicated to local seasonal products (such as mushrooms, truffles and game in autumn), accompanied by the ever present typical products of Parma, which range from salamis and cold cuts to local wines. All types of bread served here - from the traditional small bread rolls called michette to French sticks - are “homemade”.
During the winter, the small and cosy rooms are particularly welcoming and ideal for evenings spent savouring local products, whilst during the summer a large veranda means it is possible to eat outdoors in a charming setting. The restaurant also has a room that is ideal for ceremonies or special events.
